Start Webcast Pty Ltd
Privacy Policy
Effective date: 15 August 2026
Important legal notice: This policy is a general, Australian-law-oriented privacy statement and requires review by a qualified Australian lawyer before commercial reliance. It does not constitute legal advice.
1. Scope
Start Webcast Pty Ltd (Start Webcast, we, us or our) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, hold, use and disclose personal information when you access cg1.swtv.com.au, FairPlay Graphics, RingSide Graphics & Data, tenant workspaces and related integrations (together, the Services). We seek to handle personal information consistently with applicable Australian privacy law, including the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles where they apply.
2. Personal information we may collect
Depending on how you interact with the Services, we may collect:
- identity and contact details, such as your name, organisation and email address;
- account, authentication, tenant assignment and consent records;
- support requests, issue reports and communications you provide;
- service, subscription and business relationship records;
- technical and usage information, such as IP address, browser and device information, session cookies, timestamps, security logs, interaction logs and feature usage; and
- content or personal information contained in production data that you submit, import or connect, including participant names, images, roles and statistics.
Where practical, you may deal with us anonymously or using a pseudonym, although authenticated and tenant-specific Services cannot be provided without identifying information.
3. Why we use personal information
We may use personal information to:
- provide, operate, personalise, maintain, back up and secure the Services;
- authenticate users and enforce tenant and role permissions;
- deliver live graphics, scoring, timing, data integration and production workflows requested by users;
- respond to enquiries, provide support and investigate reported issues;
- measure usage, monitor performance, prevent fraud and investigate incidents;
- keep business records and meet contractual obligations;
- comply with law and enforce our agreements; and
- send service communications and, where permitted, marketing communications that you may opt out of.
4. Microsoft and Google sign-in
If you choose Microsoft or Google sign-in, we request only the OpenID Connect identity scopes needed for authentication: openid, profile and email. We may receive your account identifier, name, email address and related identity claims. We use that information to verify your identity and match it to an authorised platform account. FairPlay sign-in does not request access to your Microsoft 365 mailbox, Gmail messages or Google Drive files.
You can manage the connection through your Microsoft or Google account. Those providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.
5. Production and external-source data
The Services may process competition, team, participant, venue, bout, game, scoring, timing, logo, media and statistics data supplied by a tenant or an external provider. Some of this data may identify players, officials, commentators or other people. The tenant or user who supplies or connects this data is responsible for having an appropriate basis and permission to use it. We process it to provide the configured production and graphics functions.
6. Disclosure
We may disclose personal information to personnel and contractors who need it to perform their duties; hosting, database, identity, communications, monitoring, backup, payment and professional service providers; third-party services that a user or tenant chooses to connect; parties involved in a business transaction; and regulators, courts or law-enforcement bodies where required or authorised by law. We do not sell personal information.
7. Public graphics and shared control links
Some render, scoreboard, commentator, director, backup-feed or mobile-control pages may be intentionally accessible through tenant-specific links without an interactive login so that production devices and authorised operators can use them. Information configured for an on-air graphic may be visible to anyone who can access the relevant output. Tenants and users are responsible for controlling and rotating shared links where appropriate and for deciding what information is suitable for broadcast.
8. Overseas processing
Some hosting, identity or connected-service providers may store or process information outside Australia. The locations can vary depending on the provider and service configuration and may include the United States and other countries in which those providers operate. Where Australian privacy law applies, we take reasonable steps appropriate to the circumstances to ensure overseas recipients handle personal information consistently with applicable requirements. Overseas recipients may be subject to different privacy laws and lawful government access regimes.
9. Retention and deletion
We retain personal information and production data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including service delivery, backups, security and audit records, dispute resolution, and legal, tax or accounting requirements. Retention periods vary with the information, tenant arrangements and applicable requirements. When information is no longer required, we take reasonable steps to delete, destroy or de-identify it, subject to backup cycles, technical constraints and lawful retention duties.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards designed to protect information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Measures may include access controls, tenant isolation, authentication, encryption in transit, network controls, logging, backups and service-provider review. No internet transmission or storage system is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Cookies and technical data
The Services use cookies and similar browser storage for authentication, tenant selection, security and user preferences. We also collect server and application logs needed to operate, diagnose and secure the platform. You can control cookies through your browser, although disabling required cookies may prevent authenticated features from working.
12. Access and correction
You may request access to personal information we hold about you or ask us to correct information that is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Contact privacy@startwebcast.com. We may need to verify your identity. We will respond within a reasonable period and, if we refuse a request where permitted by law, will generally provide reasons and available complaint options.
13. Privacy complaints
If you have a privacy concern or complaint, email privacy@startwebcast.com with enough detail for us to investigate. We will acknowledge and investigate the matter and aim to respond within a reasonable period. If you are not satisfied and the Privacy Act applies, you may lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
14. Children
The Services are intended for business, sporting and production users and are not directed to children as consumers. Production data may include junior participants where an authorised organisation supplies it for a legitimate event. The supplying organisation is responsible for obtaining any permission required to collect, use and broadcast that information. Contact us if you believe personal information has been provided without appropriate authority.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy to reflect changes to our practices, Services or legal obligations. The current version will be published here with its effective date. We will take reasonable steps to notify affected users of material changes where appropriate.
